NEU4J Office Move Fundraiser

Who We Are

Founded in 2010, New England United 4 Justice (NEU4J) is an organization committed to promoting social, economic, and racial justice in the Greater Boston Region. We have a strong grassroots organizing model that centers the leadership and voice of low-income residents in the neighborhoods we serve. We engage and empower families to speak up and become a part of the solution to improve the City focused on worker rights, child care, housing and voter protections and engagement.

NEU4J believes that social change happens when those most impacted by issues of systemic injustice, organize at the local level to address issues within their neighborhoods. Through their involvement at a community level, residents engage in direct city and regional organizing that allow resident leaders to participate in strategic efforts that drive small and large campaigns that have an impact on a city and statewide agenda. NEU4J’s direct action campaigns are

  1. rooted in a clear, integrated analysis of race, class and gender justice,
  2. aim to challenge the systems of oppression by building a united front for liberation, and
  3. always start where members are at, when developing leaders for the movement.

Movement building is an essential component of NEU4J’s social change vision and strategy. We know we are one voice, one organization, in a broader ecosystem of movement leaders and partners that we are very intentional about building with.

Help us move!

After several years of NEU4J’s office being housed at 1845 Dorchester Ave, we are announcing that our office is moving into a larger space. In the unforeseen and continued tragedy and impacts caused by the pandemic, NEU4J’s organizing efforts have shifted to include wellness programs that are tied to advocacy. This shift created new organizing departments within NEU4J and prompted our team to expand.

We are so proud of our youth leadership members, our civic team, wellness team, and the work our members continue to be involved in. We know we have much to continue to build on in order to protect, empower and build in our neighborhoods.

NEU4J’s new office will be located at 102 Columbia Rd in Dorchester, MA, 02121.
As we move into a new office space, unanticipated expenses have accrued to thousands of dollars in additional costs. We are grateful to be in space with movement funders, such as the Hyams Foundation, who has supported us with a major grant to support this transition…And we are opening our doors to see how you can support!

Donating to this project will allow us to re-open safely, create more space for our teams to operate their housing, food, jobs, child care and civic engagement work, and will also support us in continuing to build on our leadership development efforts.

Like many of our allies and community partners, we have not reopened full time. We want to ensure we are protecting our staff, members and community as best as we can. We have been opening our office 2 to 3 days a week for the community and our current location is too small.

The digital divide continues to impact families in their ability to access City and State resources for housing, utilities and food support. This has been the biggest barrier in our organization’s ability to help our elders and families with their documentation and finalizing applications for resources.

We need to make this move happen and we are moving as quickly as we can. By mid-October, NEU4J will be in its new location and we need your help.

Donating to this project will help fund:

  • The continued build-out of our space
  • Support for our continued wellness to organizing efforts as NEU4J transitions
  • Help NEU4J continue its work in housing, childcare, worker organizing, civic engagement, and leadership development

We are so honored and proud to be working with a team of vendors, allies, funders who have made this all possible in our new journey!
